Adii Pienaar
Adii Pienaar is an entrepreneur, husband and very new father; the combination of these roles resulting in an epic & challenging journey. Unlike the bio’s of most “serial” entrepreneurs, Adii is (as at the time of this going to press) a one-hit wonder with his role as co-founder of WooThemes. That status isn’t for a lack of trying either; it’s just that the other attempts lost more money than it made…
Andy Peatling
Andy likes to hop between coding and designing, sometimes mixing the two together and making his code look “pretty.” He has been tinkering with WordPress for a number of years both in theme design and plugin development. When away from his screen, Andy loves to watch and play all kinds of sports. Being in Canada, hockey holds a special place in his heart.

Chris Coyier is a web designer who writes about web design at CSS-Tricks, talks about web design every week on the podcast ShopTalk, and co-founded the code playground CodePen.
Chuck Longanecker
Chuck Longanecker is the founder of the UX design company, digital-telepathy. They are currently creating a UX plugin suite for WordPress with products like SlideDeck and Hello Bar.
Daniel Bachhuber
Daniel Bachhuber wrangles code for Automattic’s WordPress.com VIP from the beautiful city of Portlandia. He spends his weekdays helping Code Poets push their code towards perfection and his weekends climbing mountains, training for the Portland Marathon, and inching closer and closer to his pilot’s license.
Drew Strojny
Drew Strojny is the founder of Jestro, a Boise-based company most well known for their WordPress themes project: The Theme Foundry.
Drew graduated from Duke University in 2003 with an A.B. in Philosophy. Upon graduation the New York Giants selected him with pick number 203 of the 2004 NFL draft. He retired from the NFL in 2007 and founded Jestro with his wife Jennifer that same year.
Iliya Polihronov
Iliya is a developer, systems administrator, and systems architect for Automattic and currently lives in Sofia, Bulgaria. He strives to understand how things work and to find the best possible solutions. When not reading about the latest and coolest technical solutions, he likes to stay active by lifting weights, running, and playing sports like gymnastics, boxing, and swimming.
Ilya Grigorik
Ilya Grigorik is a developer advocate and web performance engineer at Google. He spends his days and nights working on making the web faster and building and driving adoption of performance best practices.
Prior to focusing on web performance Ilya was the founder and CTO of PostRank, a social analytics company which was acquired by Google and became the core of social analytics reporting within Google Analytics. Whenever not thinking web performance, or analytics, Ilya can be found contributing to open-source projects, reading, or building fun projects like VimGolf, GitHub Archive and others.
Isaac Keyet
As a team lead and designer for the Mobile Team at Automattic, Isaac helps plan and design the official open source WordPress apps. Each month, over half a million posts are published from these apps on WordPress.com alone. Co-founded IntenseDebate back in the day and is a TechStars ’07 alumni. Swedish. Likes coffee, road trips, and temperatures above freezing.
James Pearce
James is Head of Developer Advocacy at Facebook. He’s a developer and writer with a special passion for the web, mobile platforms of all sorts, and exploring their untapped potential.
James’ mobile projects include the WordPress Mobile Pack, confess.js, WhitherApps, tinySrc, ready.mobi, Device Atlas, and mobiForge. Previously at Sencha, dotMobi, Argogroup and Ernst & Young, he has also written books on the mobile web for Wrox & Wiley. He’s easy to find at http://facebook.com/

A native Wisconsinite, John has natural love of beer, cheese, and a strong dislike for sub-zero temperatures. He is a lover of naps, puppies, puzzles, and things with wheels and gears. When he isn’t helping build neat stuff with code, he enjoys traveling the world, taking pictures, a good cup-o-tea, and helping people use (and extend) WordPress, BuddyPress, and bbPress.

Kurt Payne is a php developer and contributes to the WordPress core. Kurt wrote the P3 Profiler plugin and believes in empowering customers. When he isn’t working, he’s probably spending time with his wife and making references to Futurama.
Leo Babauta
Leo Babauta is a simplicity blogger & author. He created Zen Habits, a Top 25 blog (according to TIME magazine) with 260,000 subscribers, mnmlist.com, and the best-selling books focus, The Power of Less, and Zen To Done.
Babauta is a former journalist of 18 years, a husband, father of six children, and in 2010 moved from Guam to San Francisco, where he leads a simple life.
Matt Mullenweg
Matt is the founding developer of WordPress, the open source blogging software that runs millions of sites around the world. In 2005, he started Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com, Akismet, Gravatar, bbPress, IntenseDebate, and BuddyPress. Matt lives in San Francisco and has a crush on Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
Matt Perry
Matt Perry is a developer and technology director at Grist, the nation’s leading source for enviornmental news and commentary. In the past Matt has been the lead developer on a couple of Seattle-based startups, and before that was a grad student in Math, a professional ANSI Lisp programmer and a piano player — not necessarily in that order. He sometimes blogs and tweets.
Michael Fields
Michael Fields is a Theme Wrangler at Automattic as well as a plugin developer and core contributer. When not shoulder deep in code you may find him with arms glued to a pinball machine, biking through the streets of Portland, Oregon or taking photos of interesting things to post on the internet.
Mika Epstein
Mika Ariela Epstein is better known as Ipstenu, the Half-Elf Support Rogue in the WordPress.org forums, slashing unasnwered threads by night and wrangling plugins by day. A self-taught guru on Multisite and .htaccess, she has a passion for writing and technology, the marriage of which can be found at http://halfelf.org
Mike Adams
Under the moniker “mdawaffe”, Mike has been a member of the WordPress community since 2004 and a Contributing Developer since 2006. He works at Automattic as the lead of Team Social, working on security, back-end development, Jetpack, and a host of other projects “on the side”.

Nikolay is a long-time WordPress core contributor, lives in Bulgaria, works for Automattic, and has a bear.
Nir Eyal
Nir Eyal writes, consults, and teaches about the intersection of psychology, technology, and business. Nir founded two tech companies since 2003 and today is a Lecturer in Marketing at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Nir is also an advisor to several Bay Area start-ups and incubators. Nir’s last company received venture funding from Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and was acquired in 2011. In addition to blogging at NirAndFar.com, Nir is a contributing writer for Forbes, TechCrunch, and Psychology Today. Nir attended The Stanford Graduate School of Business and Emory University.

Noel is the founder of happytables, an SaaS for restaurant websites built on WordPress. He leads the WordPress Meetup group in Zurich, loves microbrews and shelter dogs.
Paul Gibbs
Paul is a Core Developer of the BuddyPress social network plugin. He enjoys speaking at WordCamps, helping people, and working on great plugins.
Pete Davies
After nearly 30 years of fabulous British weather, Pete moved to the San Francisco Bay Area, where he was surprised to find it still rained. Unperturbed, he fell in love with the California outdoors and, among other things, learned to sail. In-between sailing trips and bike rides, he managed to get a fancy business degree from Stanford University. As a Business Engineer for Automattic, he builds partnerships between Automattic products and other awesome companies.
Randy Hoyt
Randy Hoyt has built numerous custom WordPress themes and plugins for client websites, working as an independent consultant and as a developer for an interactive agency. He recently joined Treehouse as an Expert Teacher. Offline, he spends his time studying mythology and playing board games.
Ryan Imel
Ryan Imel is a WordPress core contributor, writer, and the owner of WPCandy.com. When he’s not writing about the growing industry building up around the WordPress project he is editor of the printed publication The WPCandy Quarterly and also runs Pressed Ads, the ad network just for WordPress businesses and websites.

Scott Kingsley Clark
Scott has been developing with WordPress since 2008. He’s a WordPress developer with RD2 and the lead developer of the Pods Framework, a content creation kit plugin. He’s happily married, and the father of a daughter who he shares the same birthday with.
Sheri Bigelow
Sheri has a wide range of interests with roots in photography, a degree in Business and Chemistry, and a love for WordPress. Prior to joining Automattic, she managed websites for Myriad Genetics in Research Park on campus at the University of Utah. She’s passionate about working with the extraordinary collection of talent that is Automattic and can usually be found speaking at WordCamps, kayaking the Adirondacks, or exploring Saratoga Springs, NY.
Trevor Timm
Trevor Timm is an activist at the Electronic Frontier Foundation. He specializes in press freedom issues and government transparency. Before joining the EFF, Trevor helped the longtime General Counsel of The New York Times, James Goodale, write a book on the First Amendment. He has also worked for the former President of the ACLU and at The New Yorker. He graduated from Northeastern University and has a J.D. from New York Law School.
