We have arranged for discounted parking at one garage on Friday and one garage on Saturday. See below for instructions on which garage to use each day. We apologize that we could not get discounts at the same garage each day.
In general, there are two parking options at Mission Bay Conference Center/ USCF Mission Bay Campus — surface lots and parking garages. Both are paid parking. Surface lots are street level parking lots with pay machines. The surface lot is located on 4th Street (just north of 16th Street). See (3) on the map below. Surface lot parking is $2.50 for all day Saturday. However, surface lot parking costs for Friday are the “non-discounted rates” listed to the right. The parking garages are located at 1625 Owens Street (adjacent to the Conference Center) and 1670 Owens Street (across the street, behind Gladstone Building). Cost is based on time using the “non-discounted rates” listed to the right, with the exception of the discount on the days noted below.
Friday discounted parking is available at the Alexandria Garage, located behind the Gladstone Building on Owens Street. Enter just across the street from Conference Center. See (2) on map below. If you arrive by 8:30am on Friday July 26 and exit the garage by 6:30pm the same day you will pay the discounted rate of $14.00. Hourly rate is $3.00/hour. You do not need a voucher for the discounted rate on Friday. This garage is CLOSED on Saturday.
Saturday discounted parking is available at the UCSF Community Center Garage, attached to the Mission Bay Conference Center on Owens Street. See (1) on map below. If you arrive by 8:30am on Friday July 26 and exit the garage by 6:30pm the same day you will pay the discounted rate of $14.00. Hourly rate is the same as the “non-discounted rates” listed to the right. You can park in the surface lot all day Saturday for $2.50. Surface lot is indicated a (3) on the map below. For Saturday you’ll need a voucher to get the discounted rate. Please stop by the Special Registration table in the lobby to pick one up.
Hotels
In past years we’ve negotiated hotel discounts, but most attendees were able to find better hotel deals using online travel sites, so this year our hotel advice is to shoot for something on the MUNI line (anything downtown near Market Street) so you can hop on the N or K/T train to get to WordCamp.
Public Transit Stations
Here’s a map of the BART stations around downtown. The stations on Market Street are also MUNI stations.
Contributor Day
Contributor Day will be held on July 28, 2013 at Automattic’s new lounge at 132 Hawthorne Street in SoMa (alley between 2nd and 3rd, cross streets Folsom & Harrison).
