I\u2019m\u00a0still jazzed about last year\u2019s hack day at WordCamp San Francisco. What an amazing event! It\u2019s still an inspiration to me. It taught me that when people come together to work on something they love, extraordinary things happen. It was by far the most productive, energetic, and well-attended hack day I\u2019ve seen: a great way to wrap up the conference.<\/p>\n

Alive with the energy of the day, I vividly remember how fantastic it felt to be surrounded by both old friends and new faces\u2014some people I\u2019d previously only known by a WordPress.org username\u2014as we hacked together on the default theme for WordPress. Of the many tables and rooms at the space, we were fifteen people in a corner: designers, developers, testers, documenters\u2014all contributing and making the software better (plus two more joined us via IRC). Kudos to the community for making a contributor day a priority, and for the organizers for making the logistics go smoothly.<\/p>\n
