On Thursday before WordCamp, core code contributors are invited to come to the Automattic Lounge at Pier 38 to work on patches for WordPress 3.3. Much of the core team will be there, and doors will be open from 10am – 6pm. We’ll order pizza sometime late lunchish.
If you are currently a core contributor, we’d love for you to come. If you a hardcore WordPress developer but have never contributed to core, we’d love for you to start. Between now and then, get set up with an SVN checkout on your laptop so you’ll be ready to go. If you like the idea of contributing to core but are intimidated by setting up a dev environment and using SVN, this day isn’t for you. Instead, you’ll want to attend the regular WordCamp session on getting started as a core contributor.
Note: It’s important that everyone in attendance be working on core. If you come to hang out and you work on other stuff instead of core code, that will not be cool. This is a core hack day — if you just want to hang out, wait for the regular WordCamp.
If you think you’ll come leave a comment on this post, so we’ll know how many people to expect. Thanks!
Sweet! My flight is that morning, so I won’t be able to be there at the start, but I should be able to come for at least a few hours.
Looking forward to meeting all of you!
I’ll be there for the end. My flight gets in at 02:52 PM and I figure I’ll head there once I land.
My flight gets in that morning, so I should be able to be there for most of the day.
I’ll be there.

I plan to be there.
my flight lands at lunchtime, so I guess I’ll get there about the same time the Pizza does, which is generally, how I roll.
I’ll be there.
Count me in, too.
I’ll be there.
