Newbie Workshop Sold Out!

The first-time blogger workshop we’re running on Friday, August 12 has sold out! If you wanted to attend but didn’t get a ticket for it in time, you should probably just go ahead and get your Sunday ticket before we sell out of those as well. If you want to be put on the waitlist for the Friday first-time user workshop, leave a comment on this post. If more spaces become available, we will contact people from this list.

    I bought this ticket: WordPress Pro Package: 3-day Mission Bay Pass and assumed it included the Newbie Workshop. Now after reading this blog post, I’m not so sure. If I needed to sign up at a different spot, please add me to the waiting list. Thanks!!

      If we used a bigger space, people wouldn’t be able to get the personal attention we intend. The workshop was capped at 80 people — if it was any bigger it would need to be a lecture, not a workshop.

    I ( and the friend of mine) were looking for newbee workshop and was going to attend Sunday workshop too. So, did not quite understand the meaning of Business Blogger Package – decide that it is package for two days – Friday and Sunday – and thus bought two tickets. The n we ‘ve seen a message, that Friday workshop is sold out. And now I ‘m confused – looks like we have tickets, but not for the event we would like to attend. Is it possible to put us on waiting list for newbee workshop. Thanks for any advice we can get – since I am pretty sure, that workshop for Business blogger is too advanced for us yet.

    I too bought the 3-day pass for WordPress Pro Package: 3-day thinking that Friday’s newbie session was included. Are all the sessions extra? My husband planned to attend Friday’s session at Mission Bay Center.

    I had purchased a ticket for the Friday wordcamp at Pier 38, but only just now responded to the request for additional registration information. The form was preceded by “you missed the boat” message. Does that mean I lost my spot? I also changed my email address at that point. I hope that didn’t mess things up.

    I only see Microsponsorship available @ $500. Is this for One (1) pass to All Three (3) Mission Bay events? And I assume this does not include the Friday Newbie session.

    Also, my children have their own blogs aged at 9 and 11 – excellent writers – perhaps better than some adults. Could they attend the conference with me?

    Oh, I understood the “sold out” part perfectly. I am purchasing the Microsponsorship. My question is – does the Microsponsorship ticket cover ALL Three (3) days? And is $500 for One person One per three day pass?

      Hi Steve,

      At UCSF Mission Bay (the site for the main WCSF sessions) there is a parking structure with numerous disabled parking spots next to the elevators.

      At Pier 38 (the site for the Newbie Workshop) there is metered parking across the street (which I believe is not metered if you have a disabled placard).

      Disparate locations, and the focus is on helping people set up their own individual sites. It’s one thing to film a lecture or Q&A, it’s another to film people while they are learning. This workshop is not the only way to learn how to use WordPress, and there are lots of video tutorials on the web already, many of them free at WordPress.tv.
