I recently heard a speaker say they didn’t need to prepare ahead of time because “I’ve given that talk so many times I can do it in my sleep.” That’s the kind of thinking that makes for a bad talk (and it showed).

I do believe that a topic can be useful multiple times, but the ones I’ve seen like that could best fit in a “beginners” track at WordCamp, rather than grouped together with everything else.

A couple of things to think about ahead of time:

    • Github isn’t Git, and PRs are specific to Github
    • What happens when a ticket is updated with a PR from Github and a manual patch from SVN?
    • Does a PR from Github that updates a patch automatically mean no more patches named 12345.1.diff?

Looking forward to see the discussion move along!

+1 for “what next?” and also for deciding which parts of 5.x to utilize in core.

I’m hoping this will include contributions outside of core, as well (subtitles, Codex editing, support forums, Meetups, translations, etc.). There are a lot of folks doing great work outside of core who are worthy of recognition.
