Improving translation management is tightly related to having localised themes and plugins on WordPress.org.

We have 137 locales for WordPress and only 51 of those are at 100% for 4.0. I’d really like to start working towards bringing it to 100.

As GlotPress is the current tool we’re using, it needs to be taken to the next level. Including in terms of UI and A11y.

    In.

Meeting people from the global community at the local WordCamp is one of the perks of being involved in the first place. Local meet-ups do a lot in terms of skill share, but the great community vibe and the cultural diversity is one of the things that can help grow local communities by attracting more people to show up in the first place.

I believe there are great potential speakers outside the big agencies who may deserve a little Foundation backup.

I’ll be happy to be a part of this discussion.

David, there will be quite a few Europeans on the ground in SF to participate in this discussion. A European community summit (or at least an outside US one) is what Siobhan initially proposed we talk about.

I’d love to be a part of this discussion. Rosetta sites are a gateway to better i18n and local community development. In light of the recent plans to include plugins and themes in GlotPress they will be an invaluable tool for communication between the growing number of local translators and validators.

Like it. We could definitely improve http://plan.wordcamp.org/ with a section for discussions or (sorry if it’s already there) we could have a P2 on Make.wordpress.org, maybe as a part of https://make.wordpress.org/community/ that’s open for people to ask pending questions and organisers to share their lessons learned.
